The Warriors having so many good players is bad for the NBA, instead of spreading out the talent it's all on one team. Unless you're a Warriors fan or you live in the Bay Area you understand what I'm saying. I mean yeah it's fun to have a bunch of great players on your team, but for everybody else it's kind of like come on the pretty much guaranteed to win a championship just because of who they have on their team.

  • Chris Dropulich
    Chris Dropulich Pirms 6 Mēnešiem

It is collusion if you have LeBron James and Anthony Davis and Rich Paul sitting at a table and they say hey it's in your best interest to play together for the Los Angeles Lakers, so let's make it happen. You could say that's just good business, for the Lakers and for the players, but at the same time it is kind of colluding

  • Chris Dropulich
    Chris Dropulich Pirms 6 Mēnešiem

The only way the Knicks will be successful with DeAndre Jordan Dennis Smith Jr Wesley Matthews is it Kyrie Irving joins the team. Yeah they have two first-round draft picks, but they need a proven star to join the team. And that could be Kyrie, but he is also injury-prone and has been for many years.

  • Chris Dropulich
    Chris Dropulich Pirms 6 Mēnešiem

Even though the Knicks got big man DeAndre Jordan and Dennis Smith Jr, as well as two first-round draft picks doesn't mean they got the better of the deal. I think getting KP Trey Burke Tim Hardaway Jr and Courtney Lee is the better end of the trade. They're going to play with Luka Doncic and they're going to eventually win a championship.

Charles tried stacking himself, going to the blazers gm and saying trade these guys keep these guys. Did that with Phoenix, then tried joining drexler in Houston, he's a player that one could point to in setting the trend today.

I like what Chuck is saying
Pretty much players aren't wanting to play their heart out with a team that's paying them regardless. Many superstars appear to be giving up on their teammates instead of standing up to management as to why they aren't obtaining other key players through the draft or free agency.

Porzingis is a great player with limited in availability. Dallas may want to get a player who can stay on the court. In 3 years he palyed 72, 66, and 48 games. It'll be great for Dallas IF he can stay healthy.

If players want to play together they will play together. Simple.
If all of them want to go to the Lakers, then it's up to other markets to compete and make them seem likeable.

  • Ontario Andrews
Ontario Andrews Pirms 6 Mēnešiem +1

On some levels Chuck may be right. Why don't they move all teams to either LA, NY and Miami. With the exception of Toronto ....Canada needs that one team. AD signed a freaking contract. When his time is up then move. Go to another team. In the mean time just be an adult and honour your contract like the rest of us mortals legally have to do and be quiet. This is getting silly and stupid.

  • Ross conklin
Ross conklin Pirms 6 Mēnešiem +1

Anthony Davis has an All Star level point guard on his current team, and they're under .500. Harden had nobody for a month and he was winning games by himself. This is why I would think twice about trading a couple of really good young wings or guards for Davis. Guards and wings have more opportunity to create for themselves and have a greater influence on games in the contemporary NBA. Stats might "like" bigs, but bigs don't win titles in 2019. LeBron, Harden, Steph, KD, Giannis, and maybe Kawhi are the guys who guarantee at least a solid playoff run. End of list.
Also Charles is right about the collusion. Having an agent, who owes his position and lively hood to a player, circulate rumors and hold players and teams hostage is outrageous. Everything that has happened in the last week sounds absolutely nothing like anything Anthony Davis has ever said or done before. LeBron/ Rich Paul are trying anything they can to force him to the Lakers while LeBron is still young enough to make another run or two. It's counter to the spirit of competition and it's much much worse than KD to the Warriors of "the decision." It's crossing the line.

Im with Barkley on this one. Whats going on here is collusion. Its different than everyday business in the NBA. They (Magic Johnson and Lakers management) are pulling questionable strings, and kicking the leagues "fair business practices" to the side in order to construct another team that will dominate. And as fan of a team in a mediocre market watching this from the outside, it is very disheartening to see the future looking so bleak for 90% of the teams in the NBA. The Lakers and the Warriors ALREADY suck most of the oxygen out of the room on every NBA talk show ALREADY! All the major commentators don't even pretend to care about the rest of the country. It's all about Cali to them. Okay! We get it! The weather is great there! So is that honestly ALL that NBA players care about!?!? Because that is the message I am getting from these Lakers d*ck riding commentators! Congrats to Barkley for calling a spade a spade. Because if 50% of the top talent in the NBA winds up being hogged by just 2 teams in the bottom corner of the country, you'll find 50% of your viewership tuning out. Where's the fun in watching a sport when your team has zero chance, zero hope? Forget about it. Let em all move to Cali cause the weather is nice. I'm gonna spend more time watching NHL. Because the players don't seem to mind playing for Detroit. The Red Wings have always been able to get talent every few years.

  • James Pappas
    James Pappas Pirms 6 Mēnešiem

charles is absolutely right! collusion is a strong word but it's not good for the league when players can just pout and say 'i dont't want to play here. trade me to this specific team.' Come on man! player mobility is good for the players but it undermines the nba. It basically tells us that small-market teams are just a farm system until the player wants to leave. i love the nba but this is why its ratings have dipped: half the time it's a damn circus

    • James Pappas
      James Pappas Pirms 6 Mēnešiem

@jpowers55 I mean the Lakers have been bad for years prior to lebron going out west. They were just a name for a while. You know what would put ratings up even more? Not knowing the outcome of every season. The regular season has become a formality, we all know Golden state will end up winning again, and you can't convince me only having 2 or 3 true contenders in a 30 team league is good

    • jpowers55
      jpowers55 Pirms 6 Mēnešiem

top 5 guys to build a team around : Nikola Jokic ... the end... now really Steph Curry ,who else ??? ( i am referring to a winning team !!!) ... yes KD ( he's not you can build a team around him) ... wesbrook and george seem to be good enough to be included here... to be able to make a team around a player that player has to be both good and a team player...
