McKinnon (sp?) reminds me of McDavid; insofar as everytime he gets the puck I'm like 'yep, he's going to score'. And although I'm a Canucks fan and was hoping Quinn Hughes might have a shot at the Calder, Makar is an absolute beast, looks like he's been in the league for 5 years.

Also in watching Cale Makar and John Marino go head to head, I know this is a hot take but I think Marino holds his own vs the best rookie defenseman in the NHL. Marino has two absolutely key assists and was a defensive beast, I don’t think he gives up a whole lot to Makar to be honest. Makar is an absolute star though, can’t deny he’s already one of the best

I found it hilarious how excited the Avs broadcaster was for Murray’s Dang-it 😂😅 he did pull himself together though. Kahun is looking great on that top line, he’s filling in for Guentzel admirably. Great all around effort by the Pens and great game to the Avs, hell of a team they got.

I see everyone just berating Matt Murray because of Chicogos second goal. THAT WAS A LUCKY BOUNCE DAMNIT. I mean he was in fine position to catch it, and the puck just kinda went a different way than normal.

Love seein the Pens win, love how everyone has stepped up this year, but god damn is MacKinnon a player. You just have to love watching a player like him, even when he leaves your defensemen so dead to rights. Also see you in dang-it Murray. You know we love you, but boy... that's a dang it

George, it does seem that way. He's a split second late with his reactions too many times. It's like he doesn't see until it's too late (especially with his glove hand). He's been better the last 3 games though.

I thought the Steelers winning 7 out of 8 with half a team was impressive, to go a league best 13-3-1 since Dec 1st without Crosby, Schultz, Dumolin, Bjugstad and now Guentzel is simply insane, send the Jack Adams to Mike Sullivan's house this weekend

@Stan Halen Do you seriously believe that if he doesn't improve that they're just going to keep trotting him out there because he won two cups three years ago? Yeah he's got a longer leash because of them, but the coach and GM want to keep their jobs too.
As for your snap analysis of my hockey knowledge, your comment says more about you than it does me. Rushing to throw Fleury into the conversation as if that justifies your opinion now. Any fool can have 20/20 hindsight.

    • Stan Halen
      Stan Halen Pirms 15 dienām

@Atheos B. Sapien You're just an unreasonable anti-Murray fan. He didn't do anything wrong on the play, name me any goalie who comes out of his crease to meet a 'pop-up' like a baseball player, and suggesting he needs AHL time as a 2 time cup winner and needs seated behind DeSmith is as laughable of a clueless fan suggestion I've heard since people wanted to ship Fleury out of town before the back to backs.

I am a pens fan, and goodness they need to get a better backup than Matt Murray, Tristan on the other hand is saving us. I honestly believe this would’ve been a shutout or only one goal allowed if Jarry was playing

    • TheHeadOfRichardNixon
      TheHeadOfRichardNixon Pirms 15 dienām

The Sabres would be glad to trade the Penguins Carter Hutton for Matt Murray, in a one for one hockey deal.

    • ifitsontv itmustbetru
      ifitsontv itmustbetru Pirms 16 dienām

Andrew, the first Col. goal was preventable. Murray was a little late getting over. The second Col. goal was preventable. Murray needs to come out to meet the puck (instead of laying back on the "knuckle ball". The redirect on the third Col. goal would be nearly impossible for any goalie to stop.

    • Stan Halen
Stan Halen Pirms 17 dienām +4

Why? He's won his last 3 starts. Just cause Jarry has played great for 2 months doesn't mean he's a guarantee and will continue being this good and has 0 post season experience. There's a reason both Murray and DeSmith leapfrogged him on the depth chart the last few years since Zatkoff and Fleury left you Muzz haters seem to forget.
